On Christmas Eve we went to my parents house. The whole week leading up to Christmas Eve, I made an over abundance of different cookies, candies truffles, candied peanuts and for Christmas eve dessert a Chocolate Mousse cheesecake. Mainly because I am crazy and because i love to bake.
At my parents we had the normal ham dinner and lots of of other yummy food, live nativity , Mrs. Claus visit and a slide show of Christ's life and sibling present exchange. We tried to dress Matthew up to be a Shepard, but he wasn't having it. Even though the day before he let me dress him up. Ah, frustrating.
This year we had my sister Rebecca for our sibling exchange, we got her some books from Deseret Book and a flannel book of Mormon set for the kids. She had us and we got Harry potter 7 part 1 and 2 and Matthew got a car. We loved it all. : ) It is awfully nice not to have to worry about buying all of my siblings presents, its nice to only have to budget for one, and that is one tradition i will always love.
* Sorry if things sound a little jumbled or non interesting, my brain hurts and i just cant think, blame it on Elizabeth.

Yay you blogged!!! Nick's siblings do a gift exchange too and I hate it! Call me a Scrooge, but it's such a pain. We do the same as you, just one couple, and then the cousins (our kids) draw names. It stresses me out trying to think of gifts to buy them within our budget. This year one of Nick's sisters bought 3 out of 4 people something they already had. I felt bad for her. I wish it was a tradition I enjoyed, but I'm ready for it to die away! The biggest frustration is that Nick refuses to stick to the budget so we end up spending a LOT more than I would like. This Christmas we spent over $200 on gifts outside of the people that live under my roof. Factor in we don't do a gift exchange with my siblings and that's a lot! Oh well. Guess I have to just suck it up.
tala is so cute in the background with her arms just up like that! oh goodness! i can't believe how many crazy yummy stuff you made, how fun!
ah lovely! We did miss being there with the fam. We had a good time here but also missed the fam. It's to explain unless you have done it but... glad all was well! We need a belly picture.
