GIRL!!!!!
Yay!! I'm beyond excited if you cant tell. We found out yesterday morning when we went for our ultrasound. Ofcourse not only did we find out that we are having a girl, we found out that we are having a very stubburn uncooperative girl. ha ha. The ultra sound took forever, over an hour, because every time the tech would try to get a measurment or find a certain part, the baby would move. Or she wouldnt stop moving. She was one wiggly baby. At one point the tech had me go to the bathroom in the hopes that baby girl would move to a position where she could get some measurements. It helped a little bit but that girl was still bound and determined to be as difficult as possible. Nick and i were both nervous that we wouldn't be able to tell what she was because the whole ultrasound she had her legs crossed. Finally at the very end she opened her legs. I was soo thankful, i don't know what i would have done if we didn't find out yesterday. The tech told us halfway through that she had an idea of what it was but she didn't want to say until she was certain and the baby opened its legs, she was right, so she must be a pretty good tech. We really did like her though, she explained things and was answered all our questions.
Baby girl is looking wonderful. All of her measurements and body parts looked great. She was measuring a little small, so they want me to come back in a month just to check for growth, but im ok with a small baby, not too small but i certainly don't want to be pushing a 9 pound baby out.
Since finding out that we are having a baby girl, its been what 24 hours, all i have wanted to do is go shopping. Literally, its all i can think about. Of course we don't have any extra shopping money right now so i have to be patient, but it just might kill me. I am going to the Savvy Shopping sale in two weeks though, which i hope is fun. I'm also hoping to find some inexpensive girl things or a swing, something to strap the baby in so that Matthew doesn't go all big brother on her and want to carry her everywhere. He does know how to feed a baby a bottle, a plastic baby, but i think he needs a bit more practice before i actually let him do that. : )
I have been debating on whether or not to tell you this beautiful little girls name......... im gonna do it, who knows when i'll blog again. It is going to be
Elizabeth Jeanne Petersen
Elizabeth is my middle name, and Jeanne is Nick's mom's middle name. We were gonna wait to use the name Elizabeth but figure that this might be our only girl so we might as well go for it. I love it and so does Nick. He has already called her everything from Lizzy, to Beth, to Eliza and whatever else you can come up with. I think he likes having so many names to choose from. : )

I want to go shopping!!!!
(It's Lindsay by the way, not Mike :))
And I love the name!!!
Lovely dear. Shopping for girl stuff is fun- I am sure you will go overboard! The name is great too. Fits your family I think and you of course:)
Go Overboard BUY everything!!!! Love you!
I LOVE her name!!! Nick and I once thought about doing Elizabeth as a first name because I so badly wanted to call her Libby, but it obviously didn't happen. I've been trying to get Libby to stick though and on my Better Wives Club blog that's what I plan on calling her to protect her privacy a little!
I wish I was there to go shopping with you. I hope you find some great stuff at the savvy sale. Shopping for babies is my new favorite thing since I didn't do it while I was pregnant. And sadly, I've bought a lot of maternity stuff too so I won't have to worry about it the next time I'm pregnant. It's nice because I've gotten a lot of great after season deals! And I can't wait to be pregnant and fit into what I bought because it's all super cute! I don't think I've paid more than $10 for anything. (And most of it's been under $5).
Anyway, how's your paying yourself plan going with this pregnancy? I can't remember what you get money for. Every time you throw up? I'm totally doing that with my next pregnancy! In fact, I think I'll make some cute jar to have on display. Don't worry, I'm not pregnant, nor do I plan on being pregnant for at least another year. My doctor recommends 2 years between deliveries and I don't want another c section so I'm sticking with his plan.
I'm glad my girl power picture of Shasta worked! I'm not sure when you got it (or if you've gotten it), but we've been praying for a girl for you. Yay for little girls!
What a beautiful name!! How exciting that you get to have one of each gender. I bet she will be a sweet little girl. And hey, she's already modest! =)
