Nicholas and I met in high school. I can't tell you exactly when the first meeting but sometime in my sophmore year and his junior year. We were in the same prom group that year and the following year. We never went on a date until he got home from his mission. Before he left on his mission, we talked a few times on the phone and hung out at Planet Smoothie, where he worked at the time. He then left on a mission and i went on to wonderful ASU. : )
About a year into his mission, he asked his mother to find out what i was up to, and to get my address. Well his mother knew my sister Amy. And she e-mailed my sister's sister inlaw, who got a hold of amy who talked to nick's mom and got Nicholas's e-mail address and told me that NIcholas wanted me to write him a short e-mail and give him my address. When i was told all of this i was kinda shocked but pleasently surprised. So i wrote him and then we continuted to write the rest of his mission. I must say that i lived for those letters after a while. And at the time that he started writting me, i was going through a hard time and he was my guardian angel. : )
Nicholas got home Friday april 11th, 2008. We saw each other the next night. And i guess you could consider that our first date. I picked him up, which was nerve racking and crazy. He was nervous too, i could tell, ya know being alone with a girl the day after he got hom from his mission. ha ha. : ) We went to a park by my house , walked around and talked. Then we went to my house and ate popsicles and talked to cassi.
When i was taking him home that night he grabbed my hand in the car, held it and then asked if that was ok. It was cute and ofcourse i said yes, although i wasnt expecting it at all. When we got to his house we went inside and looked at mission pictures until like 2 am when i finally went home.
He kissed me for the first time on Wednesday. Fast mover. ha ha ha. We were on a couch in his parents lower level part of there house ( they have a tri-level house) and we were talking, well sorta. It was more like talking but sitting there nervously while wondering in my head if he was gonna kiss me or not. And then he would lean forward and pretend like he was gonna, and then not. He did this like a billion times. so annoying and frustrating and cute. He enjoyed every moment of it. : ) He finally kissed me, which was amazing. He claims it was because he made me want it by teasing me. I dont know about that. : )
And the rest is history. From then on, we pretty much never had a day where we didnt see each other. the only times we didnt see each other, he was in chile with his parents and then on a river trip with the scouts in his parents ward. We dated for about 3 months before getting engaged.
Hopefully i will get NIcholas to add some of his point of views to this. : ) I will put them in different colors when he does. Nicholas says he has no comment.
