Vay Kay, Thrush and More!

Last week matthew and i were able to take a little trip to Utah . My sister Amy invited us to drive up with them since they were going up for a family reunion. It was nice to have a little getaway and not have to worry about any responsibilities except for Matthew. We did miss not having Nicholas with us though. It was craziness having so many kids in a  car, but fun at the same time. Matthew and i got to visit my friend Sara in Logan, which was so fun! It was nice to be able to visit with Sara and just feel like old times since we only get to see each other about once a year. I miss being able to just call her to hang out or just to come over and make brownies because one of us has had a bad day. Those were the days..... : ) Matthew got to me my Aunt Shelly and Uncle John and their kids, and they all adored him, even though he wont remember it, it was fun. For the Fourth of July, we spent it with my Aunt and her family. We had homemade ice cream and since we were in utah, my uncle set off a ton of fireworks in their backyard. It was freezing cold though, we were all bundled up in blankets and since im used to being so hot, i thought i was gonna freeze to death. I enjoyed it though while i could since i knew the next day driving home i would be able to feel the heat penetrate the car as we crossed the desert.                

       Well Amy noticed on Sunday night that it looked like matthew had thrush. So on Tuesday i took him into Dr. Nove and he did in fact have Thrush. Thursh is : " Oral thrush is a condition in which the fungus Candida albicans accumulates on the lining of your mouth.Oral thrush causes creamy white lesions, usually on your tongue or inner cheeks. The lesions can be painful and may bleed slightly when you scrape them. Sometimes oral thrush may spread to the roof of your mouth, your gums, tonsils or the back of your throat." Its not painful to Matthew, which is good so he is still his sweet self. I just have to put medicine in his mouth and boil everyting that touches his mouth until it is gone, which means alot of switching of binkies and alot of boiling since he loves his binkies. Although its annoying, im glad its not painful. I do like going to the doctor though because then i get to find out how much he weighs. :) On Tuesday he weighed 14 pounds 7 ounces. And in about 2 weeks he will go back for his four month well check so we'll see how much he has gained in 2 weeks!
   Matthew is getting to be quite the charmer. He loves smiling at everybody and is told he has quite the personality. His new favorite things to do are : kick himself around in circles on the floor, roll from side to side ( although he has rolled over a couple times, he is usually too lazy to do it because that require moving his arm out of the way) He loves to suck on his hands and has recently decided that his feet are fun too, watching tv is fun to do and will always turn his head in the direction of the tv in order to see what is on,we are working on getting him to sleep longer at night, he usually goes 3 hours at a time at night, the longest being 5 hours. His daddy set up his new crib and dresser for him and as soon as i get the curtains finished, i will put up pictures!
   I always seem to forget i have a camera, so these are the only pictures i have from the trip, they are when we stopped for lunch at the Glen Canyon Dam. And one of ellis when he was oh so happy to be in the car seat. : )
