Cereal

On Wednesday matthew went to see the doctor for his four month check up. He now weighs 14 pounds 15 ounces ( 50% for his age ) and is 26 1/4 inches long ( 90% for his age ). So he is a skinny tall thing apparently. I didn't think that he would be the ninety percentile for height, he doesn't seem that tall to me, but i guess since i am his mommy and am with him all day long, i don't really see the growth changes like some people do.
Since he is four months old and can hold his head up very very well, he got to start rice cereal! So on Thursday morning was our first adventure with rice cereal. Matthew was not quite sure what to do with it and it seemed to get everywhere but his mouth. On Saturday night, it was like a light bulb went on, he was like oh i get it and i couldn't shovel it in fast enough for him. But then this morning he acted like he didn't know what he was doing and then tonight he once again was shoveling it in as well as getting it on everything. It seems to me that he likes to eat it more at night and not so much in the morning. He is just kind of like where is my milk. After he does rice cereal for a week we get to start fruits and vegetables, a week at a time. Im so excited for that. I have already bought him some applesauce as his first fruit!
Through this feeding experience i have learned however that we need to get a high chair and soon. Right now he is sitting in his bobby as i feed him and that's not really gonna work for long. He is too excited for the food and kind of climbs out of it toward me and gets cereal everywhere plus we need something a little more secure. Hopefully i can find one soon.

Here are some adorable pictures of Matthew first time trying to eat cereal, taken by his adorable daddy.

What a cutie! oh and those stats are so normal for Walker babies I think. Mine were always long and even skinnier.I like long skinny babies! Can't wait to meet him. How long now?
